"This is fine." Anzu closes her eyes, concentrating all the magic the phoenix had given her into her wings. She streches them, the feathers themselves fluffing out slightly, and then with a powerful downbeat she launches straight up, the heatless sparks raining behind her and dancing in the advancing darkness. A few more beats, and they are well above the trees, nearly level with the cliffs.

Anzu lets out a yell of joy, loving the feel of wind and freedom, and soars farther and farther into the sky. Only the presence of the Master on her back keeps her from dancing with the breeze. "There's the city," she tells him, guesturing with one hand. "It's an awful place, but what can you do?" And with these words, she heads straight towards it, wings shimmering with barely-contained flame.
