My oldest Samuel is 8 and while he isn't a teenager he was begging me to buy him some boxer style undies last trip to Target. He said it was what the "cool" kids wear. I caved and bought him some (even though like twice the price). Well, let me tell you--his behavior went way down hill. I don't know what it is. His dad and younger brothers all wear classic white briefs (aka whitey tighties) or colored briefs. Perhaps the humility and simplicity of a brief instills better behavior? I don't know. Anyway, I switched Sam back to briefs (to his dismay) and he has been a little gentleman ever since. In fact, I switched him "mid spanking" so to speak. Sam was acting like a little terror and the pants and new boxers came off and over my knee he went. After doing his dance, he reached for his boxers and I said--it's back to briefs for you young man. He looked horrified and promised to be soooo good from now on. No deal. I told him maybe when he is 13, he can ask again. Until then, briefs are the more economical and more disciplined choice (and a reminder to Sam that I am in charge of everything in his young life--including the cut of cloth that he wraps his cute little behind in).
