As for the hand stinging it will and did when I would spank my daughter who is 20 and hasn't been spanked for some time now, and when spanking my 16 and 13 year old boys it does sting quite a lot.

I will shake my hand as Mary said does as well then pick up my hairbrush for the 2nd half of the spanking. The brush will allow my hand to recover when spanking both boys at the same time one after the other so that by the time I get to the 2nd one I'm not even aware it stings anymore until I am spanking.

When spanking just one at a time it does sting as well because I give hard hand spanks.
