First generation here, my mother was and still is against spanking.

At the beginning having Shaun I said I would never spank my child. My mother-in-law was very patient with me and she raised my husband with hairbrush spankings, she would at times smile and tell me by 3 Shaun will be needing his bare bottom spanked. By the time he was 4 I was at wits end, Shaun was in charge and driving me crazy, I finally one day bared his little 4 year old bottom took him over my lap and hand spanked him, it really wasn't much, but I did what my mother-in-law had instructed me on how I should spank when the time came.

The change in Shaun was immediate and our relationship changed as well, I was mommy and in charge now and we had a bonding and a more respectful, loving relationship after his 1st spanking.
