Hi Bridget,

With my children still being quite little, 6 and my twins just turned 8 they were spanked with hand since I've been spanking them.

However a month or two ago I received an old paddle from my mother in law that was used to spank my husband and his siblings growing up.

It's rectangular with rounded edges and made of a sturdy wood. Since my twins have just turned 8 recently I have sat them down and told them I've they misbehave they can now expect my hand and paddle to be used.

There was a look of shock and since then they have been on their best behavior, yet I don't expect that to last long.
