Before Steven's most recent spanking back in August just a couple days before at the start of back talk I turned him and gave his pajama covered bottom 5 fast hard swats, causing him to go up on his toes then hop up and down while rubbing his bottom with his mouth wide open an shocked eyes. He didn't say anything but did just what I had told him too. I told her he may be heading to another spanking. Days later he was indeed spanked.

As Mary said swats have always been a tool in me tool box, sometimes they deter them from being spanked and sometime not. I have also used them when my boys were younger and in bed not wanting to get up just as Mary did.
