Were your boys in their bedrooms because you had them go in there while you spanked your daughter? Or they chose to stay in (and out of the way)?

When I gave Jason his last spanking at 19, I didn't take him into his bedroom to give him privacy, but it was just because that is where we were at when he had misbehaved and I decided he needed a spanking. If he had argued with me and given his attitude in the living room, that is where the spanking would have taken place. Family and girlfriend being present not being a factor.

I could not agree with you more in regards to the aspect of embarrassment related to spanking. It makes the spanking all that more effective, memorable and wanting them to avoid being spanked all the more in the future. And where I have never gone out of my way to embarrass the children when I have spanked, embarrassment is a unavoidable part of the spanking process. Especially if they have earned a spanking in front of others, which has happened more often than not for the children in this household.
