As a child, the spankings at home were almost always bare bottom. There were times, when I'd get one or two sharp slaps to get my attention as a warning, but the real spankings were always bare. It's the same with my kids. Now about a week ago, my daughter had a serious attitude while getting ready for school and I ended up giving her three sharp swats on her panty covered bottom with the threat of pulling those panties down and putting her over my knee if she didn't fix that attitude. Even though it was only three swats and over her panties, it managed to bring tears to her eyes. But I feel bare is more effective than over clothes. Because you not only have access to the bare skin, but the embarrassment of being spanked bare as part of the punishment.
