Hi Mark,

Once my son is over my lap I place my hand across his bare bottom and continue to lecture for a moment making him wait, then when I am ready to spank I give his bottom a quick rub a few pats telling him ok, this lets him know I am going to spank now.

When I start in with my brush he reaches back after the first few smacks as he will invariably do as he just cannot take any more, I stop, telling him “take your hand away", he eventually does, the pause in the spanking reinforces the message that Mom has all day/evening if that is what it will take. It also shows I am in total control. I then finish his spanking.
