One of the many things I really like about spanking is just how it's so effective, no matter the the age of the child. After a good, sound, over the knee spanking on their bare bottom, the change in their behavior is immediate. Whether they are 3 years old or 19 yrs old. The arguing stops, sassiness and bad attitude is all washed away, tantrum immediately stops, <insert any naughty behavior> and they are our well behaved little boy or girl again. At least until they need to go over our lap again. Spanking isn't a permanent fix, but no punishment is. But it is one that WORKS quickly and they do learn, eventually.

You won't be disappointed in keeping spanking open as an option for your son. And I think you will likely need to do it with some consistency in his teens.

I find boys even 'past' 10 will ignore you. lol With AJ and Julian, I know it was the last one you said, just 'not believing' that I will spank them if they continued running. I am sure AJ even had it stuck in his head "Gramma won't spank me, it's my birthday party." Even though I spanked him a couple of years ago on his birthday. But of course at this age they forget so quickly.

Good for you and the other mom for spanking Daniel and his friend. Young boys just love to run. And it is good for them to do so, but as long as they keep it outside. There are just too many ways to get hurt inside or break things. Did you and the other mom spank in front of the others at the party? Or take them to another room?
