Spanking boys this age was not uncommon when 21 was the age of majority. I suspect it is rare these days or maybe underreported. Mary, Cherie and Sarah on this forum have wonderfully described how to deal with an older teen boy or girl. A smartly wielded brush or paddle hurts as much at 19 as it did at 15. Depending on the size of the boy or girl there may not be as many tears, but still a bucket of hurt.

I think it was Mary who wrote that when the boy comes off her lap yelling and screaming, he must hate the spanking and not want a repeat. Does that apply to your son and his friend? But I do find it unusual that the friend would ask for a severe paddling. How old is he? How severe is severe at your house?
