I posted this question on the forum roughly a year ago, but with those posts gone now I thought I would repost in hopes of getting everyone’s thoughts.

I know it is likely that spanking by parents in homes in many states and countries is likely less than it was decades ago, however how common do you think it truly is these days? I feel that many studies and polls indicate that spanking is way down, out of favor and even illegal in some countries, but is it really?

My thoughts… I don’t have much to back this up, but I feel like spanking in many areas may be more common than most polls show. The fact that many people may be hesitant to admit it could show low poll numbers, but truth be told they may still spank. For that reason, I feel that more families may still spank than what is publicized. Now, what percentage of those spankings are full blown bare bottom spankings, hard to say. I assume that is less or even much less than decades ago. Or is it?

What are your thoughts? How common or otherwise do you think spanking is behind closed doors in reality? Do you think it may be more or even much more than most studies suggest?
