We agreed it should be a responsibility shared by both of us. However, because I was fortunate to be a stay at home mom until our girls were teens, I also was around them more to discover or witness behaviors that called for spanking. As a result, I probably gave 60% of the spankings. While both of us hated giving a spanking, if something called for it when my husband was home, I think he felt it was his duty to give me a little relief.

As for critiques, no we didn't do that. Instead we discussed and agreed on the important aspects of the whole spanking process.
These included sending them to their bedroom for some alone time, how we would give a pre-spanking lecture, and the way we actually gave the spanking itself. A spanking was such a big, and relatively uncommon, event that when one happened we would discuss between us, with the one who gave it sharing how it went and if something needed to be changed.
