This is why I used spanking with Jack: he wasn't just better behaved the next day, he was happier. And he wasn't timid or afraid of me either, just sunny and helpful.

I suspect the big cry and cuddle afterwards was as important as the spanking in bringing about that change. I might even be allowed a cuddle the next evening too.
