Your question is a tricky one.

My first thought is that two spankings seem like a lot, especially since you and Julie give very hard bare bottom spankings. It seems like the second spanking would be awfully painful for the child. I assume that when Julie gives a follow up spanking, she gives her usual, very thorough spanking. She doesn’t spare the child just because his or her bottom is already well-reddened or even bruised. My second thought, however, is that maybe two spankings does make sense. Two offenses have been committed. The first offense, assuming it is committed by one of Julie’s sons or daughters under your supervision, would be dealt with by you. A good, hard, bare bottom spanking would be administered, and then Julie’s child would be sent home where the second offense of misbehaving at someone else’s home would be handled by Julie with yet another hard, bare bottom spanking. Two hairbrush spankings, one soon after the other, would certainly make an impression. The boy or girl would certainly be cried out of tears when it was all over with, and sore for days.

Whether you adopt the same policy is equally tricky. I never got the impression that it was your intention to give your kids double spankings for offenses, but when they play with Julie’s kids and that is the policy at Julie’s house, it does seem that, to keep things fair, you would also have to have the same policy. Maybe that is a policy that only applies when your kids play with Julie’s kids, but maybe it is a policy that you need to adopt in general. Anytime your kids misbehave at someone else’s house, they can expect to be spanked by you when you get them home. Misbehaving at someone else’s house will always result in a spanking from you, regardless of whether the parent at the other house spanked or didn’t spank. The only concern for you is your policy, not that of the other parent.
