Subject: Time-outs are not effective

Some of you may remember Emil and Mila's mother, who had a serious car accident and was hospitalized for a long time. Emil is still 9 years old and Mila is 7. She thinks spanking is too strict and too harsh and keeps trying time-outs, room confinement and grounding as punishment. She can see that this doesn't work at all, but she believes in it and doesn't change it.
Every now and then she gives them a few slaps on their bottoms, but Emil and Mila don't feel it after a minute. So it's pointless.
If she were stricter with Mila and Emil and spanked them properly once a week when necessary, it would be more effective and the two kids would behave better. But she doesn't want to understand that yet.
She can't complain when they behave like the biggest brats and are cheekier than any street urchin.
Every mother has to decide for herself how to bring up her children.
I think time-outs are a waste of time and not a useful approach.
It has zero effect and the brats continue to do what they want afterwards. Just my humble opinion.
