That spanking was so needed for Stanley. I can't tell you the amount of times I went through that with my son, my nephews, and in more recent years, with Andy. My girls hated baths when they were really little and could become quite obstinate while I tried to bathe them, but when they started taking their own baths/showers I never had a problem with them not wanting to do a good job in cleaning themselves. You are right, it's just being lazy.

This is just an ongoing issue with boys. Whether they are 5 or 15. Like Cherie mentioned, if they became interested in a girl that was always motivation. That is what happened with my son, as well. I had issues with my son where he did his best to avoid cleaning himself, which I did have to spank him for, but he was actually better about it than Andy.

Andy doesn't have a girlfriend, but I haven't had issues with him not wanting to clean himself during a shower for a number of years now. Not since he was 14. But he would sometimes wet his hair down and not use soap and tell me he washed his hair, as well as behind his ears, where it was evident he did not as I could tell the hair was still dirty and the dirt still embedded behind his ear(s).

Any time he lied about it, I bathed him like a little boy and then took him out of the bathtub, washed his mouth out with soap (for lying) and put him over my knee and gave him a sound spanking. Oh how he hated it. Was extremely embarrassing for him, especially being bathed by me. But he eventually he learned.

And Stanley will learn as well, Lois.
