Spankings absolutely must be administered in love. Thank you for that reminder.

It’s easier for kids to remember that a spanking from Mom was done out of love when the spanking wasn’t all that bad, but harder to remember when the spanking was more severe. If a bare bottom blistering is called for, then Mom is obligated to administer it, and the boy or girl needs to accept it. As long as it is understood that the very long, very hard bare bottom spanking is done out of concern for the child’s wellbeing, then there is nothing to be worried about. Mom doesn’t need to concern herself with the intense howling and screaming, or the fact that the child’s bottom has gone way past cherry and is bordering on bruised and blistered as long as the spanking fits the crime. And as long as Mom loves the child without question.

A boy or girl standing in the corner, crying uncontrollably with a blistered red bare bottom isn’t a common sight, but one that does happen from time to time. Occasionally, there will be two or three young children or teens standing with their noses to wall, bawling their eyes out with their blistered bare heinies on show for everyone to see. I wish I could say that I felt sorry the kids, but I can’t. I respect their parents for giving them what they deserved and needed. Even if some skin was removed.
