Mama,

I am a bit late to this, but wanted to express how that spanking was well deserved and needed for Gabriel. I also have always had very little leeway with the children giving me backtalk or especially raising their voice at me, or disrespecting others, especially adults, in general.

That said, I had the same issue with my children more than once. Where they tried to impress their friends, trying to be 'cool' on the phone (or like in your case with Gabriel, during one of my son's online game sessions). But they were quickly reminded that trying to impress their friends like that was a surefire way to earn a trip over Mommy's lap.

Where there was never a situation that any of their friend's heard their actual spankings over the phone or online that I know of, there were a number of occasions I am sure their friends heard me warning, or even announcing, a spanking when they spoke to me that way or didn't listen in getting off the phone/headset.

I am sure with Gabriel, that is something he won't be doing anything again anytime soon, at least while online with his friends!

Sarah
