Hello and welcome, Rachel. Your daughters certainly know what's good for them!

My daughter is 12 and my sons are 10 and 14 years old.
Like yours they never really liked shoes so we let them decide on their own and they became quite enthusiastic over the years, trying out all the things they could do barefoot, encouraging each other, now even playing outside in the snow in winter all bundled up, their bare feet (and hands too, they won't wear gloves) peeking out glowing bright pink!

But now it's summer, they're in shorts and we've done a number of family hikes together. Fortunately our school doesn't require footwear either, actually outside shoes aren't permitted in classrooms but have to be put in lockers, though indoor slippers are recommended most attend class in socks or bare feet. They all have their friends who sometimes join them in playing barefoot (only when it's warm). At home we all go barefoot, in the garden too or I sometimes join them when it's nice, warm and pleasant, but in winter I'll wear my warm boots admiring my children who come along barefoot without the slightest problem ...
