Absolutely, Rita is an "everywhere-barefooter" now, by her own choice, she's always refused footwear of any kind and would like to go barefoot through winter if she manages.

We have been there, she will start in september. Their policy is to let children decide by themselves, which is very much along our line of childraising: Enable children as early as possible to take independent and responsible decisions. To us that is more important than learning and following rules. In that kindergarten (close enough to reach on foot) they just have the rule "no outdoor shoes" and in summer most children are barefoot at least indoors. And they have a real garden with grass, moss, flowers and shrubs, much like our garden at home, so they don't have to play in a desert of concrete and stone. There's even a little swimming pool. She's very much looking forward to that, a place of learning and socializing so we are confident she won't have difficulties spending some time away from us and making more friends there.
