Hi, Robert, you said that wonderfully.
My children's feet are ruggedized and getting better with every step. At their age they have no difficulty getting used to the seasons, even on frosty days, they just don't like standing on cold stone for a long time, they prefer to keep moving.
As we go out they put on their coats and legwarmers, eager to feel the ground even at temperatures when I prefer my wool-lined boots. Their feet aren't just perfect for walking, running, jumping, dancing, climbing, sneaking and many more things but also highly sensitive organs of touch, opening them a new world of impressions every day. They experience their real world with open eyes, ears and naked soles, not just through media, and it is what helps them to grow up to be the wholesome individuals that they are.
As I watch their bare feet, peeking out under sensible warm clothes on a chilly day, moving lively and glowing vivid pink it's obvious that this is an essential part of childhood in any season and climate.
And long after they come home their feet radiate the afterglow of the day, adding to the positive feedback encouraging them to do the same thing again, confident despite falling temperatures.
It makes me impressed and proud as a mother and it shows that our approach is right: Give children a chance to make their own choices, so they learn to take good decisions in life.

All the best to you and your family and have a wonderful first advent sunday!
