Whereas the linked book says "If the child is to wear shoes, avoid poses that show the bottom of the shoe". Not true for feet and while they aren't usually the focus of the picture they can round it all up nicely. (or they are the focus as on page 118 of the same book)

Certainly one reason why children's feet are so cute is that they are quite perfect in shape (which is best preserved by an active, mostly barefoot childhood) whereas those of adults are sometimes neglected and deformed (if people don't take proper care of them).
