Hi, I see it that way: Nobody will complain about dirty shoes if a bit of city dust sticks to the soles, the same should go for feet and if my children's adorable bare solepads should be stained black it only reflects the state of the city, not their fault. As long as they don't leave dirty tracks it's fine and they can easily be scrubbed at home. I do however take care that their toenails look nice and they don't go into anyone's home, shop, restaurant or the like with totally muddy feet, just as I find it important for them to wear clean and neat clothes to such places.
