I'm sure they will gladly take that "punishment" without hesitation! But they should be aware they might be reprimanded or ridiculed, in that case they need the right answers: living barefoot is good for their health, it does them good, they both have tough strong feet and watch their step so they can walk safely and without accident.
So only do this if you have them 100% on board.
Whether you call school or get a call from them, make clear you support your children completely and give the same arguments. Health first!
When your children are in school with perfectly clean and ironed uniform, neat hair, a warm innocent smile and clean bare feet with nicely trimmed nails peeking out on the bottom they will certainly stand out in a most adorable way. They could complement that impression by walking noiselessly as it's not possible in shoes (I often notice how terribly noisy kids can be if they stomp around in shoes).
If it's tolerated then who knows, at some point others might want to do the same?
