Thank you! I'm just trying to give each of them a wonderful childhood and it seems like raising them barefoot is good in several aspects, it is fun for them all, it keeps them strong and healthy, and makes many things easier for parents as well. So I don't understand the concerns that many other parents have. Convincing them is hard though, they're too concerned their children's precious little feet might get hurt.
To be honest: We take a small pocket first-aid kit along, with plaster, spray-on bandage, disinfectant and tweezers with a magnifying glass to pull out little thorns. All children taken together we have to take care of tiny wounds once or twice a year but it's nothing that bothers them particularly, they take care of it and go on, a few days later they're healed.

>With all this, are your children's feet properly
>trained?

They are certainly well trained for most surfaces at temperatures above freezing. They still don't particularly like gravel roads, they obviously avoid broken glass or thorns that might get stuck in their soles. But they're at least as fast as any shoe-wearer.
Now for winter ... we will see. Perhaps get them some soft "sock shoes" such as Skinners for long walks on freezing days. After all it's not a good idea to avoid going out when it's cold but otherwise nice, just because your bare feet can't handle it (everybody has limits). That's also something we talked about, don't get overly ambitious to the point of frostbite. They all know the signs of feet getting pale and numb in the frost reminding them to warm up quickly.

>Do your children go to school barefoot?

Yes, fortunately there's no dress code in the regulations.

>What is the longest barefoot period?

A couple of months I guess? We haven't taken care of when they last wore shoes, it must have been sometime in march! That's longer than the years before when they had worn shoes on occasion.

>What's the most unusual place to go barefoot?

That's up to anyone to decide but last year we started taking them to concerts, theatre, fine restaurants and a friend's wedding barefoot (in fine clothes and with a neat haircut). See my message below "Taking the kids to fine society events" of 2022-05-22. It might surprise those who associate such events with detailed expectations of how everybody is dressed, but besides a number of surprised smiles we didn't hit any obstacle and the children certainly had fun! Now, a special day remains special to them and we don't do it very often, but they still love dressing up neatly in fine ironed fabric neck to ankles, with their toes and soles naked as always.

>Do they also play games and compare their soles with
>each other?

They occasionally do. It seems like our youngest son still has rather soft soles in comparison to his siblings but he is no less tough than they are!

How much do you go barefoot, Logan?
