I'm highly impressed of my children having absolutely no problems with coldness, and they go out as much as they did in the summer (even sometimes in the rain, with raincoats on to splash their feet in the puddles). And I often tell them how impressed I am.
It's so long since they have worn shoes, socks or anything on their feet, I couldn't imagine them any other way but barefoot now. When going out they dress for the weather like my husband and me, but while us parents wear weatherproof shoes it's bare feet for the kids no matter how cold it gets, actually my youngest son told me he can't wait to walk in snow.
In the evening after coming home and washing feet I love to rub them in my lap and feel the special glow in their pink toes, and the tough but flexible soles, just perfect.
