We actually cut them round and fairly short, none of us ever had ingrown nails fortunately. I also make sure to clean out any dirt that got under the nails. She loves to have her nails clean and perfect, no matter if her soles are clean or not.
(I guess she's coming into an age where "showing off yourself" in school becomes an issue ... no she doesn't use makeup apart from her feet)

Reminds me that my daughter tried light green toenails last spring ... She's variable in her styles as well!
