In addition here are some more by Timothy Mills of the Society for Barefoot Living mailing list. All great points!

51. Bare feet are truly All-terrain, they can go from climbing rocks to swimming with no problems.
52. Bare feet are quieter, children running around and playing don't interrupt conversation.
53. No whining - most children like being barefoot.
54. No soggy, squishy wet shoes on rainy days, and puddles are fun when you're barefoot.
55. Let's children feel like a part of nature.
56. Perfect for gym class, all the traction you'll ever need, and safer for being closer with others in sports or other activities.
57. Relaxing, a child feels more like him or herself and less self conscious.
58. Great grip for climbing trees.
59. Your toddler can't put them on the wrong feet.
60. Great for both girls and boys.
61. You're child doesn't take them off and leave them in the middle of the floor for others to trip over.
62. Your child can put them on the couch, chair or bed.
63. Encourages clean habits - barefooters usually don't litter, because they wouldn't want to step in it.
64. Better body awareness.

And I'll add

65. The more you go barefoot, the more advantages you discover for yourself!
