Many understand that it would be healthy to walk barefoot but they think that the environment in the city is too dangerous and dirty. In practice it would be easy for everybody at least during the summer half of the year. So I'd be glad if the school wouldn't just tolerate but recommend children go barefoot when temperatures allow (most foot problems come from wearing shoes), it would also be nice if cities were a little more pedestrian friendly, though in that regard I guess we're better than most North American cities that aren't walkable at all.

Anyway we usually get the last serious frost in february and after that the kids love to forget about all footwear for most of the year, no matter where they go. It certainly makes life easier for parents too but most importantly it keeps them healthy and happy!
