When I'm barefoot with the children in the garden it's sometimes as if I was a child again. It's never too late to have a happy barefoot childhood!

Now when we are together in town the children always choose to go barefoot, except when it's really freezing. Going to shops, banks etc I'd feel a little odd as an adult going barefoot so I usually put on my sandals (flat, lightweight, minimal sandals, no raised heel, though I still have one pair with a bit of a heel for special occasions I haven't worn them in a long time as it now feels very unnatural with them).

And we're not alone, just today as we were cycling we met a man walking with two children, the boy wore inline skates, the girl was barefoot. And it wasn't even that hot, just 17°C. Some of my children's closer friends occasionally follow along and go barefoot too; I think having three happily barefoot children can have an effect on others that they want to try it too.
