I don't know of any data about this, I was 32 when having my first child so that's pretty much average. From the beginning we agreed not to put shoes on them from spring to fall and leave it up to them to decide. With time it was their idea to expand their barefooting to school and into winter. At some point they had all outgrown their shoes and we saw no urgent need for replacement.

Maybe younger parents are more likely to rediscover the barefoot child in themselves and go barefoot together with the children. I do that in pleasant places like parks and meadows but now wear minimalist sandals to town in summer (meanwhile I've gotten rid of everything with heels) while my three children happily go along on naked, blackened soles.
