Shouldn’t tabulation be controlled and not left to one person in a noisy dance hall (right next to the musician at this weekends feis!)
Anyone could speak to them and they were walking between halls with no oversight (say chaperone) Mistakes could easily be made or, well, who knows what else!
Surely this is a real weak point and one of the crucial areas that need to be addressed.

- EGM - Representation at the EGM -- Des Silke, ADCRG, Fri, Dec 09 2022, 2:33:49 [1]
44 officially suspended -- James McCutcheon, 8/12/22 15:57:28, Thu [24]
As you are aware, An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha initiated a disciplinary process into allegations of wrongdoing which have been widely reported.
Led and overseen by Mr Justice Michael Peart, a retired judge of the Court of Appeal, the independent investigation has thoroughly examined all complaints, grievances and all accompanying evidence.
This external investigation team has provided an update on its progress, and in the interests of transparency, we can confirm 44 cases have now been recommended to proceed to full disciplinary hearing. All the individuals involved have been informed and Clauses 3.2.a and 3.2.b of the Disciplinary Procedure have been invoked.
[3.2.a] Where following an investigation into any complaint, a recommendation is made that a disciplinary committee is convened, in the case of any individual elected to An Coimisiún or any of its affiliated bodies, [he/she] will be obliged to temporarily step down from any position held while the process is ongoing. (AGM 2016)
[3.2.b] Where an investigation into Gross Misconduct concludes there is sufficient evidence to invoke formal Disciplinary Procedures against any individual, that individual may not make any application to officiate at, or act in any official capacity at, any CLRG registered competition or event until formal Disciplinary Procedures have concluded.
These cases will be heard by an independent External Disciplinary Panel. Recruiting experienced, external individuals for this Panel is underway and will be finalised in due course.
We wish to reiterate that CLRG regards all allegations of wrongdoing with the utmost seriousness. We look forward to the External Disciplinary Panel commencing its work and dealing with these issues as soon as possible.
We would also like to reassure Members that we are fully dedicated to introducing positive changes as agreed and approved by your representatives at An Coimisiún. This is something we are committed to and focused on moving forward.
James McCutcheon SDCRG
Cathaoirleach
Do you have any of the 114 CLRG members in your Region that have resigned their position or may due to disciplinary procedures being invoked that are required to step down and not be able to be replaced, therefore your Region will not have full representation at the EGM, has your Region sought for these members to be replaced according to the rules of An Coimisiun as long as they are current members, in good standing, that have been accepted via the registration process and subject to the voting procedures that enable them to be elected as a valid teachers representative for their Regional Council or as an elected Teachers Representive to An Coimisiun Le Rinci Gaelacha with no ratification from the floor of An Coimisiun.
Lay Members that are elected via Regional Councils need to be ratified at an An Coimisiun meeting once all checks (Vetting & Child Protection) have been completed by the Regional Council.
Will this affect the teachers in your Region being afforded representation at the EGM?
If as a TCRG, TMRF, ADCRG, you have any questions regarding the above questions please email cathaoirleach@clrg.ie to air your concerns.

What exactly is happening in the Irish Dance World after this scandal. Do you think there will be Change in culture go back to the roots ? as an outsider looking in... the dresses, the crazy wigs etc and now the judging ! i'm a parent of a little girl who's entered this world. I've a big issue with 40 year old + male dress makers judging a 7 year old little girl on how she looks on stage. Surely it should be about the dancing / the art form. It's more than just the judging that has to change. !

Do you think that CLRG needs to put something in place that limits the number of schools/dancers an ADCRG can be associated with? Are we coming to a time where one single AD can wipe out hundreds of dancers from competing at a major because of school mergers and workshops? One school seems intent on some kind of ID world domination, gathering more and more schools into its fold and also travelling to other schools and countries for workshops. When that AD or any other AD associated with them gets mandated to judge Worlds, there are potentially huge numbers of dancers who would be out. I know it is the choice of each school and they go into it knowing that this can and most likely will happen, but what is the limit? When is enough enough? Soon half the schools in the world will be associated if it keeps growing at the current rate.
The likelihood of this happening also increases when there's more than one AD in a school or the merged or workshop schools also have AD's. Will the dancers in a U.S school be happy when an AD in a far off country gets called to Judge worlds and they can't dance? The tentacles of this stretch all over the world. I guess many dancers are out every year, but I feel the time is near when the stars will align and a much bigger number will be out due to a super worldwide merged school AD being called upon.
How many more schools can one super school suck up before there are real issues. I single out one school but also acknowledge that there are other AD's, not merged, who also spend many days/months each year travelling the world doing workshops, further associating more and more schools as they rake in huge cash payments, but at what cost? Again the schools go into it with full knowledge, but I still feel that in the end the dancers will suffer whilst the AD's enjoy their "fame" and ever increasing bank balances with the comfort of knowing that they are untouchable.

Feile Rince cois Sionna was contacted by Mikela Mallozzi who is the Host & Executive Producer of the Emmy®award winning US travel series on PBS called Bare Feet with Mickela Mallozzi experience the world one dance at a time. The series is also available on Amazon Prime globally in all English-speaking countries, including Ireland!
Mikela and her crew are in Limerick on Saturday 22nd to embark on a documentary episode on dancing around Ireland and she has asked if she can come to Feile Rince cois Sionna around 11am to do an interview on Irish dancing with me and with anyone interested in speaking to them.
If anyone, parent, teacher or dancer wants to be part of the short segment in the documentary let me know on the day.
With regards to the competitions, as we have had enquiries:
1: All competitions will be in Hall A
2: Results will be given in Hall B (on stage and with podium). If the presentations can be held on the main stage we will most certainly endeavour to do so.
3: There is also a third hall available should it be required for presentations (and to ensure the smooth running of the feis- time-wise) and that two will have a podium.

- If you are sick of the bullying on the other board, please post your questions and comments on this board. It will be moderated daily and bad posts/people blocked as quickly as I am able. Please don't bully dancers, teachers or anyone else here, no ridiculous cryptic initials either! -- moderator, Sun, Sep 09 2018, 22:32:27 [4]

- By bully free zone does that imply opinion free zone? Or are you allowed to have opinions on the dancing, on this board. -- Thank-you., Mon, Sep 10 2018, 14:48:20 [2]

- Of course you can have an opinion, but still keep things civil. If you think a feis was bad, then speak up and say why, but let's not start with naming a child ( and initials name the child, age group names the child) and say they, for example, didn't deserve to win, this is not the child's fault. Discuss judging etc, but no bashing of children, no matter how passive aggressive it is, will be accepted at all. (NT) -- Thankyou, Mon, Sep 10 2018, 23:09:08

- Ballyhaunis Feis -- Ann King- Byrne, Sun, Jun 10 2018, 6:34:04 [4]
The Ballyhauns Feis was postponed in March due to the snow. Our date for this year only is the 8th and 9th September.
How about giving it a try.
The grades are all on Saturday and the Open Championships are all on the Sunday.
I know it is very soon after the Summer break but maybe it would be a reality jolt into the new dancing year for the open dancers and a starting point for the grades.
The syllabus will be on clrg shortly and on Connacht Feiseanne.
Ann
