Subject: Musicians aging well

The following sentence is a quote from an Atlantic article out today titled, Bruce Springsteen and the Art of Aging Well.

“The artists who hold our attention,” he told me, “have something eating away at them, and they never quite define it, but it’s always there.”

It’s a good read, about the life of a musician, losing people as we age, writing, success and the changes that come about inside us as we get older, but the line above made me wonder about many artists I like - and not just musicians.

And going yet a step further, if we are each the artists of our own lives, is it true about people in general?

Posing a question like this on a lonely message board is perhaps strange, but it feels right for some reason.
