Subject: 51 Years - Half a century passed

As the "anniversary of the devastation" reaches 51 (FIFTY-ONE!) years, and I careen, perhaps not so willingly but certainly shocked, in to 70 (ah, the 70s) I just wanted to post a little post to let any readers know:
The site is still maintained, the board is still visited and active and I'm still wondering if ANYBODY else is still around from those glorious days of "The Lodge".
Haven't been back to the property in a good many years. But the Google maps show me that there's really precious little resemblance to what used to be there. The last time I DID make it, managed to stroll about a bit, it was strange, and a clam into the reality:
G's was gone and never coming back.
I've said and will say: Had it not been for G's, George, Pat, Brenda... the entire crew at The Lodge, I wouldn't be here today, at this age, typing and remembering. MANY attempts were made to see to it that I wouldn't be here. October 1973 was a "grand slam" and had G's not opened a door, given me a refuge... well... that would have been "their success". Oddly enough (or not), I've managed to out-live "them" and here I am.
Sadly, The Lodge hasn't. But the memories it gave are still very much alive in this old mind and heart... with gratitude.
Hopefully, somebody else is out there, remembering and with all this "internet" we have today, somebody will check and find the site and take a moment to comment or contact the web-master from the site.
Anyway... CHEERS... 51 years. (I remember being that age.) half a century... plus. HALF A CENTURY! HOODUHTHUNKIT?
