I went and shortened my SCSI cable and reinstalled it to my 630 mb connector & now I get that famous floppy disk error with the question mark in the middle of it. I thought at first that my connecton was poor so, I reinstalled the cable to the mb connector but to no avail. I got the same error when I tried to start it up from my IDE hard disk from my 5400. Whether I installed the IDE cable one way or the other, I got the same floppy disk message with the question mark in it. I tested my connections & I know that the hard disks both SCSI & IDE were spinning. The only other thing that I did to the SCSI cable was to remove the first connector and leave the second connector (became the only one) in order to make it easier to fold. Is there possibly another reason for this such as a loose cable going to the a/b or to the m/b? Everytime I install it in the box, it is quite a complicated effort & maybe something came loose. I notice that when I have to pass my SCSI cable underneath the mb connector and then pass it through the hole to where my SCSI hard disk is located, I never have to twist the cable because that cable is in the right direction to attach to my hard disk.
I know that the system worked fine before all of this effort. By the way, before all of these problems, when I tried to boot up the system with my 5400 mb. the CC would not even turn on.
