Subject: Analog Board mod - sweep width

I just finished my 6500/225 Color Classic! Woohoo! I did the VGA mod with the pin 8 to pin 12 + cut J19, and jumper IP8 to S1. It ended up giving me 640x480 @67hz. I have tried the capacitor widening method suggested on the ~macaddict pages. I can't get rid of the 10mm strip on the sides of the screen. Does anyone know... if I connect pin8 to pin10, will the screen widen any? This is the Hi-Res mod right? I am not worried about power supply issues as the only thing the analog board is powering is the PCI cardless motherboard and the screen and case fan. There are no drives or any other electronics running on the analog board. The LC power supply that is in there is running all of the drives. (SCSI ZIP and 7200 IDE). Also, for those who asked a month or two ago. You can install a ZIP and use the existing slot. It just needs to be filed mildy to widen it a little. You have to tweak the floppy carrier but if you look at it a little, it is pretty easy to figure out. I have read all of the Hi Res info (or so I thought). Can I go hi res with a PCC mod?? Someone who knows please reply.
Thanks
Scott
