Both Maplin and RS have 3mm bright blue LEDs, but only RS has a surface mount one. This is 3mm long, 2mm wide and max 1.5mm thick, catalogue No. 267-1834 and is listed at £4.13 each + VAT in 1-5 quantities. It has a typical Vf of 3.6 V, and takes 20 mA (max 25). Others listed are much larger.
I don't yet know if this would fit the CC, or what voltage is present on the green one. Someone else may have investigated that.
