Basically, the 57x series boards are all the same. A 58x board is basically the same as a 630 board, including an IDE interface and different edge connector than the 57x series boards. Technically, you could put anything up to a 6500 board into a 580 hull, but that same 580 hull *cannot* accept a 57x board.

Bloody hell. Now I'm confusing myself.
Let's make this easy:

570-series and 580-series boards are NOT interchangeable.
580-series boards are basically 630-series boards.
Color Classic, 520, 550, and 570-series boards are more or less interchangeable.

I hope that helps. Sorry if I confused the hell out of you, because I'm sure confused. Oh well.
