Mr Lawson, you are indeed a scholar!

My Sonnet 601/100 PPC upgrade is one of only 100 that Sonnet made when they snapped up the leftovers of Daystar Digital. So it is basically a Daystar PowerCard 601/100. These cards were identical to Apple's PPC upgrades, because both were made by Daystar.

I actually found mine on eBay, and having never heard of a "Sonnet" PPC 601 PowerCard, emailed them. They told me that when they took over the remains of Daystar's inventory there was anough stock to make only 100 of them, so they did!

I think that MISUTHiKU must be talking about another Daystar card which has onboard memory. Mine has a 256k L2 cache, but otherwise just uses motherboard memory - so I am (or was until your post about 64MB SIMMS) stuck at the LC575 limit of 36MB.

Thanks for your help with my memory question.

Jeffrey G
