Just tell Asante tech support you have a 575 and they won't know the difference. For all practical purposes, the Mystic is a 575 anyway...just has a smaller screen and smaller speakers :)

Is the "real" Mac Driver Museum (the one on NBCI) down?

Another suggestion might be to try Asante's WWW site for the drivers; they might have a newer version there.

It shouldn't matter, but what happens if you plug an Ethernet cable into the card before trying to install?

What about using a different System version? I'd try 7.1 if I were you.

Did the card work fine before it was installed in the Mystic? If you don't know whether or not the card was good, try testing it in something else or finding a known-good card and checking that out.
