I downloaded (using another 'puter of course) Asante's Ethertalk Installer 5.6.1 and tried to install the Asante Ethertalk stuffs over a clean install of System 7.5.3 "Minimal System Software for this computer" and got the following message:

"CANNOT detect any Asante adapter:
-Plug adapter before running installer.
-Run troubleshooter to check adapter.
-If you still have problems, report results to Asante Technical Support."

Checked Adapter and it was plugged into the PDS slot prior to running installer.

Then, I ran the Troubleshooter and it gave me the following message:

"Could not find the Asante Ethernet Adapter!
Please see Installation Manual and verify that the Adapter is properly connected and plugged in."

I haven't called Asante Tech Support. Do they handle CC upgraded to 575 configurations? or only stock non-modified Apple hardware?

I'm wondering if I should try getting a Comm Slot Ethernet Adapter and get rid of the PDS Ethernet adapter.

-Makoto
