 Sorry I couldn’t post-you’ll see why

I had my “chat” with my host dad. It was extremely scary. He basically talked about the importance of respect for the Pastor and how embarrassing what I had done was for the family. He said, quite frankly, that I deserved a good bare-bottom spanking for it, but that he had discussed it with his wife and that they were going to give me one more chance, since I wasn’t culturally aware of their expectations. I did lose my phone for two days and was given a stern reminder to not stay glued to it.

He also said that future misbehavior at home or school could indeed lead to a spanking for me as my parents have signed off on it, and he said if he sees my phone at church again he WILL have me cut a switch.

I’m relieved to not have been spanked, but I feel like my host dad is itching to give me one— I’m not sure it’s just a vibe I get. Maybe he thinks I’m rich and spoiled (my family is one of the more high-ranking party wise in China) or maybe he just wants to get to spank “the Chinese girl.” I’m going to try to just steer clear for this next period as best I can.
