There are many rumors going around about the long standing East Bay Feus that are not based on fact. As previously mentioned in this board, for deeply personal reasons, we are unable to commit to running a Feis this fall. It has zero to do with Irish Dance, having enough manpower or financial means to run it. It has to do with the absolute need to prioritize family first. Unfortunately, life can be a bumpy ride, and outside of dance, we have a large, strong family. Sometimes in family, things happen that make you have to prioritize what’s important in life. There has been and continues to be a very real reason that will not be disclosed publicly for this decision and we thank everyone who has been very understanding.

We have been open with the NorCal teachers on our current position and they are rallying around us. Other schools and teachers (100% of the long standing Bay Area Schools have reached out over the past several months and have been very gracious) are looking into potential locations and this stage and it is still possible a Feis could happen, and within the week we will know for sure either way.

We try our best to stay off of these boards and avoid dealing with untruths. We know in our hearts that we are doing the right thing, Sometimes life drops something unexpected on you, and you have to put the people you love above all else. We ask that you refrain from spreading misinformation and rumors. We have fought through over 40 years and put on a Feis during some very difficult personal circumstances before, however, we have come to realize, life is short, tomorrow is not promised, and we will never regret putting a loved one first (something we haven’t always done before and regret).Again the reasons are intensely personal and those closest to us know the truth. We just ask for some grace and understanding. To avoid any speculation, the teachers are strong, healthy and committed. We were established as a school in 1967 and this is just a blip on the radar looking at the bigger picture.

We are very thankful to all of the teachers and the community as a whole that have reached out, offered support and understanding, including rallying to try and make a Feis happen in NorCal pre-WRO.
