Subject: Sleepovers

My son Max still wets the bed at 11. Now his best friend Lisa invited him to a sleepover for her birthday in two weeks. Lisa knows about the bed-wetting and is really nice about it, so does her mom. They already had a few sleepovers and it wasn't a problem. He put on his goodnites and that was that. But this time there will be other guests that don't know and my son is really scared that someone might find out. He also will be the only boy, that doesn't help. To make things worse, Lisa's mom told me Lisa got very upset and even cried a bit when she told her that Max might not want to stay for the sleepover. She doesn't understand what the big deal about Max wetting the bed is, bless her heart. So now May and I are torn. On one hand I think the sleepover will be a lot of fun and it will be good for him to meet more people. Also he obviously don't want to disappoint his friend. On the other hand I know how vicious girls at that age can be, and I really would hate for someone to notice his special underwear and make fun of him. He is already so self conscious about the bed-wetting and it took him two years to trust Lisa enough to open up about it, who had already figured it out shortly after they became friends, but didn't say anything until he was ready to talk about it. How do I deal with this?
