Subject: A Long Drive and Summer Plans Ahead

We have a 12-hour drive coming up—our annual summer holiday is approaching. As always, I like to use this time not just for rest, but for reflection, discipline, and family bonding. I'm still prayerfully considering how we will structure the vacation this year, and whether preventive DD will be appropriate before we go.

Sometimes a firm reset before a change in routine helps set the right tone—especially when we’re stepping away from the regular schedule and boundaries. The Lord calls us to guide our homes with love and order, and I find that clarity beforehand can prevent a lot of attitude issues later on.

Would love to hear how other mothers prepare their families for long trips and the shift into “vacation mode.” Do you make adjustments to your discipline routines during summer?
