Subject: Siena upends Providence

A great win for the Saints and MAAC with an 8 point victory over Providence and the Big East playing in the Pepsi. The power of home court advantage in front of a very vocal crowd cannot be underestimated. If only the STAGS would be so lucky as to have 6-10K fans behind them at the Arena. If Duke comes in next year, we may see that for the very 1st time.

Congrats to Siena. A great win for them.

I tell you, one thing that distresses me is that other programs bring in new coaches and those coaches struggle for a year or two and then start winning. Look at Manhattan. Gonzales struggles for a couple of years and then learns how to get the team to 20 wins. Siena was not very good last year, but finished strong and now is on a pace to win 20. They played Xavier tight and now have beaten Providence.

The Stags have shown no marked improvement in the last 5 years and still can not play a decent game against better competition. I think we all agree that the 'potential' is there. But potential plus 50 cents gets you a 'lousy' cup of coffee.

Today is a MUST win. Time to turn potential into reality. 5-6 would not leave us with a good taste in our mouths.

you're right...fairfield has made almost no progress under TOT. would have been gone last year as he deserved but for his mentor Gene Doris. TOT doesn't know how to coach or represent FU properly. great talent & a poor coach = a medicore season....give this team to Ruland, Gonzales or most of the other MAAC coaches & you have 20 wins.

Gonzalez didn't really "struggle". He inherited garbage and improved the squad every year, including his first. What you see now is HIS City recruits.

Yeah, we can all be cheering to keep it under 40.
