I Agree, this year the Stags made progress. The foundation of the team is solid and with some luck nad leadership, next year the Stag's will have another winning season, back to back, something we have not seen in many years. Yes, TOT has made progess, but let's a large part of this year's success is owed to Oscar and Delfico for their senior leadership, even though yesterday the leadership took a day off against a team that is playing very good ball lately. TOT deserves to come back and to be given a chance to build on to this year's winning team. This year's team will not fall apart in the remaining regular season games, nor will it fail to win at least one tourney game. With 15 wins already, the Stags are headed towards a solid winning season, possibly 18, 19 or even 20 wins. TOT deserves to come back. He's no John Wooden, name three college coaches who are, but he's got the program headed in the right direction.

JoeStag - well laid out points - all true and undeniable..

Even Mike and MadDog (who have admittedly buried the guy over the past 4 1/2 years) said that TOT and Stags will only improve in the MAAC the next several years with such a young team -and that FU ought to give the guy a contract...

Interestingly, they also said that FU must realize who they are and no get carried away here (like some on this board)... TOT, Hobbie, Buzz et al have turned this program around and as JoeStag points out, there has been definite progress on all fronts.. again, credit where credit is due..

As for Stagnate and the likes of the ridiculous nay-sayers that constantly whine and moan about the current program, as WFAN's top sports authorities stated quite clearly last week to all of FU, Be careful what you wish for.. you just might get it....

Doesn't make an impact when Mike and the MadDog give their backing to TOT, but since such a knowlegable and objective evaluator as you support him, then we must know its true. Go find another board to haunt, you phoney shill, you have absolutely no credibility.
Your idol simply will never learn how to use his people. Observe how he is consistently outcoached each game.

I agree the stags are going the right way, but my post is regarding the "WFAN's top sports authorties" statement. If those two bumbling fools who have no idea about basketball, or anything other than the yankees and giants (baseball) are anybody's top authorities that company is in trouble. GO STAGS!!

1. There are guarantees. You guys have a young nucleus and all, but that does not ensure future success. Kids sometimes don't develop much if they aren't coached properly (ie, Jermaine Clark, Dyree Wilson), other kids' attitudes change as they are "recruited over", etc.

2. While Fairfield is young, you do have three (or more?) guys who provide, if nothing else, experience and leadership that won't be back next year. While a guy like Delfico may lack star power, believe me, you'll miss him, even if you plug in a more talented player to replace him.

3. Fairfield's future is bright, but that doesn't ensure that you'll finish 2nd or better next year. Manhattan should still be very strong next year with only Jared Johnson a notable graduate. Iona replaces its only graduating senior, Maceo Wofford, with an All-Big East player. Siena is generally a very young team. Niagara isn't overly veteran. Even Rider is young and should be better. That's the other top 5 or 6 teams in the league that all figure to be stronger than this year. Lots of variables in there.

How can Mike and the Dog be experts on a team they've maybe seen play once all season? They have no idea what they are talking about. Which still puts them ahead of Truth Ruth.

I'm all for TOT staying, but referring to the Mike and the Dog conversation. You must not have listened. They haven't seen him coach, have ridiculed him for four years, and were reading from a boxscore. TOT did an excellent job on the program, however, to use this as a basis, in my opinion, is pretty light. Read JoeStags post, that's why he stays along with not wanting to start over.
