Subject: Stamford Advocate - MAAC /Doris respond on Mondays Snow Game
Sounds like Fairfield might have had the final decision, but there a lot of other entities that were ready to play. Normally, my opinion is that College Athletics is played for the Student Athlete, and the game should be played. But Since Fairfield has moved to the Bridgeport Arena, they need to be moer Fan Friendly. The move to the Arena was a conscious decision by the University, so Fairfield need to to be Responsible to the Fans and the Community. Because of that, IMO, the games should have been rescheduled.

I cannot allow name calling or showing disrespect for players, coaches or administrators.
I don't like to delete posts, especially when most of the info is relevant..... but I can't allow it, if it has name calling or showing disrespect.

For all you guys belly-aching about Fairfield playing in such terrible weather conditions on Monday, just realize that if UConn had a game scheduled, its arena still would have been half full.

Probably true. Also there's a probability we'll be seeing them in the NIT.

Like Georgetown and Seton Hall, UConn would have postponed the game. As much as I dislike UConn men's basketball, at least that program respects its paying customers.
Of course, I don't have to respect UConn's paying customers.
Good luck in the NIT.

As a sign of good faith, the University should deduct the price of the "Snow Game" from next year's bill, should the people re-up. I know it might not be enough for some, and doesn't address those who bought tickets for that day, but its something. In fact, a press release, stating the intention would be some good PR. Lord knows FF needs it!

Fan,
No way that the Hartford Civic Center would be half full on monday at 4:00 if Uconn was playing. The conditions were just horrible.

OK, I take that back. I meant to say if the UConn women were playing, the building would have been half full. Make that three-quarters full.
