I totally agree. His best oppurtunity would be to stay at FF (who will be loaded next year) and build on this season. No one will be knocking down his door to hire a head coach with only one winning season. I would only dump alot money on a coach if he was a "sure thing"...if there is such a thing (ask Fordham about Bob Hill). IMO, if TOT failed this season he would find it difficult to ever land another D-1 coaching job(ask Mitch or Paul). Coaching at a mid-major can catapault a hot coach into the big time. On the other end of the spectrum, it could be coaching suicide if their tenure is not successful.
Once again, kudos to TOT for turning the corner. He desreves it. Still, he is not above criticism.

I also agree that a new contract does not have to happen immediately..... however, the whole negotiation, approval, and Contract preparation process should probably be started so that it can be a done deal by the end of the regular season.

TOT was under a lot of pressure this year. He said at one of the Doc's Roundtables how he understood the expectations and the situation. But he was still going to lead this program, and do the right thing for the long term..... which was to still Schedule tough opponents. It took a lot of guts and confidence for him to do that under the circumstances. I am happy he is succeeding.

Doris set objective and realistic goals, and TOT has blown them away.

I'm also happy he's succeeding, as I said to someone today I've never been happier to be wrong in my life. I would certainly have dreaded the prospect of having to start over with a new coach. I don't necessarily disagree about some preliminary discussions but the last thing this team needs is a distraction.

GD seems to be a person of integrity & I'm sure he'll treat TOT & the Univ. fairly. This team will soon have to deal with the pressure of rising expectations. If they beat Manhattan Thurs. they will be favored to "go all the way". I think that will be enough pressure.

Doris is an idiot.
